Pécs Workshop on Quantum Information and Quantum Optics

May 28-30, 2012 (Monday-Wednesday, arrival Sunday afternoon, May 27)

Description

This conference has two purposes.  The first is to discuss recent work in the broad area of quantum information theory and theoretical quantum optics.  This includes work on non-classical light, squeezing, field quantization in nonlinear medium, programmable quantum processors, operator discrimination, quantum copying, secret sharing, entanglement conditions, quantum walks, and generally work whose purpose is to discover, understand, and apply quantum ideas.  Applications of these concepts to quantum information, in particular, quantum computing and quantum cryptography will also be covered.  The second purpose is to celebrate the 60th birthday of Mark Hillery.  Mark's work in recent years has focused on the above topics, and holding a workshop of this type is a good way of honoring both his contribution to physics and him as a person.

Oral presentation at this workshop is for invited speakers only.  Any other parties interested in the topics of the workshop or in this special occasion are encouraged to participate and present posters.
